Nature Niche leads our first C & O canal Count for the DC Audubon Society!

On Saturday, January 19th, 2008, bird enthusiasts around the Potomac River helped the DC Auduon society conduct their annual C & O canal count. Every year, this count is conducted to provide a snap-shot view of the winter bird community along the canal which is an asset to management and bird conservation in the park. Desiree Narango and three local volunteers braved the cold temperature and cloudy weather and surveyed miles 124 and 125 which are portions of the canal in Hancock, MD, just outside Morgan County. The count was the first for Nature Niche and alot of fun was had by all. Thanks for your help!
